The Amara Linen Short

The Amara Linen Short was designed to be the perfect summer short: comfortable enough for everyday wear whilst still creating a flattering and polished silhouette.

When designing shorts, I think it's important to remember that creating a flattering shape is about much more than simply choosing the right length. Every element of the cut needs to work together to create balance and proportion, which is exactly what we've focused on here.

The length has been carefully considered to finish at one of the most flattering points on the leg for the majority of women, helping to create a longer and more balanced silhouette. The wider waistband, inspired by the design of our Amara Linen Trouser, provides gentle support through the midsection whilst helping to create shape and definition around the waist.

We've also spent a lot of time perfecting the width of the shorts through the leg opening. As a styling rule, shorts are often most flattering when the opening is slightly wider than the leg itself. This creates balance, allows the leg to appear longer and slimmer, and ensures the shorts skim the body rather than cling to it.

Designed to coordinate perfectly with our Rope Neck Top, Bandeau Top and Eden Shoulder Pad Blazer, these shorts form part of a versatile summer capsule that can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.

As always, the goal was to create a piece that helps you feel comfortable, confident and effortlessly put together without having to think too hard about it.

Crafted from a premium blend of cotton and linen, the Amara Linen Short has been designed to offer breathability, comfort and effortless summer style. The cotton provides softness and comfort, whilst the linen contributes natural texture and airflow, making the shorts ideal for warmer weather.

To help preserve the quality of your garment, we recommend washing inside out on a cold, gentle cycle with similar colours. Reshape whilst damp and allow to air dry naturally away from direct heat and sunlight. Do not tumble dry.

Where required, steam gently or iron on a low setting. As with all linen-rich fabrics, natural creasing is part of the character of the garment and contributes to its relaxed, effortless appeal.

Please note that linen naturally relaxes with wear, and you may notice the fabric softening slightly throughout the day. This is a normal characteristic of the fibre and part of what gives linen its comfortable, lived-in feel.

The Amara Linen Short has been designed to sit comfortably at the waist whilst creating a relaxed and flattering silhouette through the leg. The wider waistband provides comfort and gentle support through the midsection, helping to create a smooth and balanced shape without feeling restrictive.

The carefully considered cut through the leg allows the shorts to skim the body rather than sit too closely against it. This creates ease of movement and contributes to the effortless feel of the garment whilst maintaining a polished appearance.

Crafted from a blend of cotton and linen, the fabric combines the softness of cotton with the breathability and natural texture of linen. The result is a fabric that feels lightweight and comfortable against the skin whilst retaining the fresh, relaxed character that makes linen such a favourite during the warmer months.

The cotton content also helps soften the handle of the fabric, creating a comfortable feel from the very first wear whilst allowing the garment to move beautifully with the body.

We recommend taking your usual size. However, if you know you have particularly shapely thighs or prefer a little extra room through the leg, you may wish to size up.
